Nationwide Crisis Hotline (Suicide Prevention)

If you or a loved one are in a Mental Health Crisis (or just need to talk to someone urgently to feel better), please go to your local Emergency Room (ER) or call or text "988" (similar to "911" and easy to remember; available nationwide) to speak someone trained to assist. There is no cost for the confidential call and they are open 24/7 (any time, day or night including weekends and holidays). Please help spread the word about this excellent resource. The most trivial things can go "viral" in minutes, yet this excellent life-saving resource has been around now since July 2022 and only a small percentage of people have ever heard of it. Even if you do not need it for yourself, please make note of it as you may need it for a friend, family member or stranger one day.

According to their website, "Using the 988 Lifeline is free. When you call, text, or chat the 988 Lifeline, your conversation is confidential. The 988 Lifeline provides you judgment-free care. Talking with someone can help save your life."..."...People do not have to be suicidal to call. Reasons to call include: substance use disorder, economic worries, relationships, culture and identity, illness, intimate partner violence, depression, mental and physical illness, and loneliness."
